The Libertarian Party of Texas declares that human rights should not depend on nationality. It condemns government immigration raids and laws punishing employers who hire undocumented workers, arguing such actions violate free enterprise and individual liberty. The resolution supports the unrestricted movement and employment of peaceful, undocumented individuals, opposes any immigration limits based on race, religion, or similar traits, and calls for the abolition of I.C.E. and Border Patrol. It advocates full amnesty for all nonviolent undocumented people and demands that Texas law enforcement stop cooperating with federal immigration enforcement.
Resolution Condemning and Abolishing I.C.E.
We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. We strongly condemn the massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by both the federal and state government in their hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that would punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise and harass workers and employers alike.
Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age, or sexual preference.
Therefore, the Libertarian Party of Texas calls for immigration reform such that non-violent people can move freely as markets require as well as the abolition of I.C.E. and Border Patrol, and a declaration of full amnesty for all non-violent, undocumented non-citizens who have entered the country.
We also call for the State of Texas to cease their actions in assisting the federal government in harassing non-violent individuals regardless of immigration status with any type of law enforcement, which includes police and sheriff’s departments, state troopers, Texas Rangers, and the Texas National Guard.
