    Our Coalitions

    Coalitions

LPTexas is interested in forming coalitions with lobbying and interest groups where we have mutual agreement on specific issues. We feel that working towards a common goal with other lobbying groups in the state of Texas is a great way to share resources and advance lobbying efforts in the legislature. With our combined efforts, we hope to see faster progress towards more freedom in the state of Texas.

We welcome suggestions regarding groups that would be a good coalition partner for LPTexas. If you have a suggestion, or if you represent a group that would like to potentially partner with us, please contact us at coalitions@lptexas.org

Texas-Voter-Choice-Logo-White-Background-Square.jpg Texans for Voter Choice supports the Texas Voter Choice Act to end straight-ticket voting and increase ballot access for independent and minor party candidates for public office. In addition to supporting the Texas Voter Choice Act, Texans for Voter Choice will guard against legislation that would threaten ballot access for minor parties and independent candidates. LPTexas is a proud founding member of Texans for Electoral Competition and works gladly alongside our partners in Texans for Voter Choice to increase ballot access while maintaining electoral integrity.

Texans for Electoral Competition is a coalition that encourages the 2017 85th legislative session to open up electoral competition for all Texans. The coalition includes LPTexas, League of Independent Voters, Green Party of Texas and other groups that support fair elections.
Our broad concern -- one that we all witnessed in this last election -- is that the major party machines have worked to shut down competition within their parties and from those outside the two-party duopoly. In the 2017 Texas Legislative Session, TEC wants to win fair ballot access for independent candidates and other parties, end "one-punch" straight ticket voting, protect citizens petition rights and protect the integrity of our elections and ensure that they are verifiable.
